      Im a big fan of alot of Ouwehands exhibits but this looks like a real low point, dusty playground with a moat...

      @DavidBrown Yes, aesthetically this enclosure is a bust and nothing like the many enormous, occasionally walk-through Barbary Macaque exhibits scattered across zoos in Western Europe. Seeing a male macaque bare his teeth from a few feet away is an interesting experience and I had that almost daily in the summer of 2019. The monkeys at Ouwehands were at least incredibly active, hustling up and down the wooden structures and digging through the sand for treats.
