For those familiar with Cat Canyon, in addition to the main glass windows there are two side halls with harp wire. The one on the left, this one, has been locked for quite some time because the male ocelot was not a good exhibit animal and was nervous around people. The ocelot is to the right of this photo and the exhibit on the left has been empty for a while (previously held porcupine and before that raccoon and in the glorious days of yore margay). The new ocelot (born at museum just under two years ago) is a much better exhibit animal, yet frustratingly they seem to be making the viewing closure permanent. On this visit I noticed they replaced the laminated paper sign saying staff only with permanent window decals. Also new, they have covered the harpwire of the empty exhibit with canvas (as seen here). The second hallway, the one between bobcat and gray fox, is still open to visitors.
