Amur leopard exhibit (small)

As far as I know, prior to Amur leopards (Panthera pardus orientalis), this exhibit used to hold Persian leopards (Panthera pardus saxicolor).

It's still too small for leopards, regardless of the type. And the climate of El Paso is not exactly conducive to Amur leopards.

@Arizona Docent yes the exhibit may have been on the narrow side, but it still seemed adequate in my opinion. I will say that Persian leopards (Panthera pardus saxicolor) were more appropriate for El Paso's climate. Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know, the last Persian leopards in North America are at the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound in Rosamond, Kern County, California?

I believe so (regarding Rosamond), though I recall some thread on here where someone mentioned one somewhere else. Not sure if that is still the case.
