      "Mackenzie Valley" Wolf. August 31, 2018. Having now seen "occidentalis" in several European zoos I do question the purity of the population.

      @ThylacineAlive Do you have any additional information on the population, I saw Parc l'auxois exhibits "Mackenzie River Wolf" as well. It seems their is quite a bit of scientific debate about wolf subspecies, with some sources listing 5 subspecies, and others 24. If they are going with the prior number then the "Mackenzie River Wolf" is grouped with the much wider ranging Timber Wolf (occidentalis) which is much more believable, if a bit misleading IMO. If they are going with the 2005 Mammal Species of the World position of mackenzii being its own subspecies then I am more doubtful. Do some european zoos manage said population with its own studbooks and the like?

      @DelacoursLangur To my knowledge the European population is supposed to be occidentalis.
