Based on the ear size and the knowledge that zoos in SA and therefore private keepers in Europe often mislabel Screaming Hairy Armadillo as Pichi (ala "mountain coati" in the US), I'd have to say that unfortunately this is not actually a Pichi Armadillo.. ~Thylo
Yes @devilfish alerted me of this a few years back. Unfortunate, but true. If any moderator would be so kind to change the incorrect photo labels.
@Giant Eland An unfortunate jab to the lifelist ..... EDIT : This and the Common Opossum, is that a loss of two species for you today?
@ZooBinh luckily I’ve see Common Opossum in the wild in Costa Rica- so no matter what that species stays. And Pichi I removed from my list years ago but I’m ready to add it back the next chance I get!!
I'd rather look at it as us being able to add a unique subspecies of Virginia to our lifelists. ~Thylo
