RepTopia - Red-bellied Short-necked Turtle (Emydura subglobosa)

Housed with a Crocodile Monitor.

@Zooish Are the 6 Batagur borneoensis still a part of this exhibit ?
Have heard varying accounts of them remaining within the crocodile monitor boundaries, and being transferred to Bornean Marsh or the back-of-house area.
I remember seeing their signage still attached to the enclosure's glass panel, two weeks ago.

@Casuarius_casuarius i think the juvenile batagur had been taken out of the exhibit for some time already, sign notwithstanding (they are wrongly signed at the Proboscis Monkey exhibit too). They're probably off show. Some of the adults are still at Bornean Marsh.

This exhibit contains the Crocodile Monitor, Red-bellied Short-necked Turtles and a young Orlitia borneoensis.
These internal transfers are part of bigger plan to increase the diversity of species on display at Reptopia by making better use of the existing spaces to include species housed elsewhere (some in back-of-house areas); there will also be a few new species / additional specimens arriving within the next few months.

@TheBirdMan looking forward to the new arrivals. It seems like every visit to RepTopia/Reptile Garden holds a surprise! Hope to see the Siamese crocodiles on display some day too.

Regarding the Batagur borneoensis, any chance we'll see them return to the proboscis monkey dome ?
Really loved their presence alongside the other Bornean aquatics like the Kapuas arowanas, bala sharks and clown loaches.

@Zooish We do have a few new species lined up for display that are currently held off-show, plus a few others arriving from other zoos. Unfortunately for now we don;t have immediate plans to display the Siamese crocodiles, due to lack of suitable exhibit space. But we never stop brainstorming and trying to some up with new ideas

@Casuarius_casuarius The original group was removed because they were feasting on the fish food and became a bit over-weighted; once we can solve this issue we can potentially reintroduce the juvenile specimens.
