The tank wasn't nearly as crowded as the pic may make it seem, it was very deep with lots of space but most of the fish were congregated at the surface.
It was a really cool tank, it's a multi-storey tank like many of the other exhibits at Osaka Aquarium, this pic was taken from the top storey of the tank. When you first see the exhibit, you're looking down at the surface (I had to crouch down to get this photo) Most of the fish were congregated at the surface, but some like the Coral Catsharks preferred to hang out at the bottom (which was one or two storeys down). There were all your typical surgeonfish, butterflyfish, damselfish and fuseliers, but I really liked the addition of boxfish and some kind of bullseye. The coral was artificial but realistic. Overall great exhibit, it really showed off how colours change with depth, at the very bottom of the exhibit everything looked very green due to how light dissipates with depth.
@DaLilFishie It sounds like a pleasure to go there, maybe someday I'll be able to go to a real coral reef!
