Unidentified anole species (Possibly Anolis allisoni or A. smaragdinus), Zoo Antwerpen, 2020-09-20

If anyone knows which species this could be, please let me know. It was added to a terrarium in 2020 and was not yet signed. Zootierliste doesn't currently list any anoles for Antwerp.

I also placed this photo in a plant and animal identification Facebook group.

Someone there suggested Anolis allisoni because of head characteristics.

I'm not sure whether this is correct. If anyone can confirm or has other suggestions, please let me know.

It certainly looks like a member of the carolinensis group, which includes allisoni, carolinensis, porcatus, and smaragdinus. I might lean toward smaragdinus because the blue coloration on the front of the body isn't too extensive, but hard to say for sure.

@Gondwana Thank your for the information and the reply. I understand that anoles are difficult to identify, so until I can access the reptile house again and hopefully see some signage, I have decided to include both possibilities in the title.
