Really Bizarre Anti-Evolution(?) Dinosaur vs Bird Poster

Really Bizarre Anti-Evolution(?) Dinosaur vs Bird Poster
    • ThylacineAlive
Main house: Dinosaurs vs birds signage. July 13, 2021. I spotted this poster in the far corner of the entry room/showroom/living room. Probably one of the most bizarre examples of signage I've found at a zoo. Presumably it's some sort of creationist propaganda, but I have no idea why it's here since otherwise I got no sense of any religious undertones while visiting the zoo.

Bizarre. I didn't see this sign on my visit, but I may have just missed it. Really strange, the reasoning on this sign makes absolutely no sense, but is still perhaps the most educational sign the zoo has!

My favorite thing about this is that extremely weird Darwin quote they decided was necessary for some reason, despite not being informational or relevant to anything on the poster :D

Ha, that's some Kent Hovind nonsense. There's a bit right down the bottom saying "See Creation Seminar Part 4 for lots more", and right at the very top (i.e. on the bottom of the poster above the photographed one) is Hovind's website drdino.

      Bonkers o_O
I estimate there are at least 12 untruths on that poster, but counting them would do my blood pressure no good

"Battleships and forks are both made from iron, but this does not mean they are related"

      By gods, I'm gonna puke

Along with the random Darwin quote, my favorite part about this is the bullet point "reptile lungs" :p I also find the "can fly vs earthbound" difference bizarre because we have flightless birds today and throughout prehistory, not to mention we have also had various flying reptiles.

I also quite like what I can only assume is a typo in the "modern bird fossils found in layers lower than dinosaurs" statement as surely he means younger being as lower = older in geology.

All in all, just a hilarious poster by a nutjob! @Chlidonias reading Hovind's Wikipedia page was quite the rollercoaster! Certainly wasn't expecting the 50+ felonies this guy has faced!

No, that's his point. He is saying "dinosaurs can't have turned into birds because bird fossils can be found that are older than dinosaur fossils". For Young Earth Creationists evolution (which they don't believe in anyway) is a straight progression, animal x turns into animal y turns into animal z. Humans are the pinnacle because they were made in God's image, so that is what the end goal of evolution would be (if evolution were true, which it isn't). So dinosaurs can't have turned into birds because birds existed before dinosaurs existed. It's not true of course, a minute's research shows that, but they also lie a lot...

He also used to be a high school science teacher...
