How many macaques does DAK hold currently? I know they imported a few and were hoping to breed a few years back but I don't think that came to fruition, sadly.

I believe ever since their only male passed away sometime between late 2019/early 2020, it seems that all of the park’s potential plans to breed this species have been mostly scrapped. In addition to the fact that the AZA have plans to phase out this particular species in general. I just don’t think that the park will ever receive any more macaques to enhance their breeding program, and I would imagine that they would likely replace the remaining two/three individuals with a different species of primate instead, if that was the route that the park would have in store for them.
