For those of you who have never seen a jaguarundi in person, this photo is a bit overexposed - they are actually much darker than this. (Otherwise, though, a nice shot - I like the sense of motion and the dramatic black background).
I love jaguarundis. I've seen them down at the desert museum. They are just so different than other cats, almost otter like.
I have only seen the single jaguarundi, at the Emperor Valley Zoo in Trinidad and Tobago, and it was close to black in appearance. They are definitely much different than most other cat species, and are quite sleek and fluid in their movements.
I seen couple of them in Cincinnati when they still had them in the 90s. One is the usual dark umber and the other almost sienna brown.
