Ringed teals, a Congo duck apparently....

The species is an odd choice, but I do like the concept of Ducks in a paludarium! Are there any other birds held here?
    • noobmaster69
@Mr Gharial Von der Decken's hornbills, violet turacos and purple rollers
    • BucerosKeeper
@noobmaster69 so get this, they were supposed to be Blue-billed Teals (Spatula hottentota), but were switched with the Ringed Teals at the last second because management thought they’d display better here.

@BucerosKeeper still weird they replaced the dwarf crocodiles with birds but that makes sense. Are you aware if they keep any other birds in the River Gems area aside from trumpeter hornbills?

The cichlids are are also geographically incorrect, as these cichlids are from East Africa, not the Congo.

@AndyJ08 River wonders has practically gave up on geological accuracy at this rate. Sl thr whole stretch from after river gems to river nile has been rebranded to a generic African theme
    • BucerosKeeper
@AndyJ08 to be fair, the official name of this tank is actually Malawi, not Congo. All the previous fish species in this tank have been moved to other exhibits, and the Malawi cichlids were only introduced last year.

OP probably labelled it as Congo as this tank used to house the park’s African Dwarf Crocodile.
