Cologne Zoo - Douc langurs

Douc langurs in the Ape House at Cologne Zoo. Cologne Zoo is the only zoo in Europe to keep this rare species. They hold 2.3 douc langurs, one of the males being a baby, born in March 2007.

      Yeah, and I thought they seemed to be rather well and active during my visit. Even though their enclosure can't exactly be described as "great".

      i've heard the doucs at cologne breed, but ultimately do it rough in the winter when the zoo is forced to feed them frozen green leaves.

      does cologne form a global partnership with US zoos and asian ones such as singapore?

      there are actually a lot more red-shanked doucs in captivity than figures suggest. a well coordinated program is a real possibility.

      Now Cologne has 3 doucs, they let them die out.
