Cologne Zoo - Future Hippo House

The plan for the new Hippo House at Cologne Zoo. This is the next big project, and is supposed to be finished in 2010. The house will be the home of common hippopotamus and nile crocodile. Flussferd = Hippopotamus Gepard = Cheetah You can figure out the rest ;-)

      The Indoor hippo house seems to be the new vogue for the larger zoos in Europe with W Berlin leading the way, with Copenhagen, Hanover and now Cologne following on, my one point about this house seems to be the lack of separation facilities for the hippos.

      It's nice to see that hippos are finaly being taken good care off. And I think you can just see the edge of some stable boxes, just behind the back wall, opposite the sitatunga's stable. Not sure though...
