New chimp indoors at Hannover

New chimp indoors at Hannover Zoo. A net instead of a moat, bigger and windows. When the new outdoors is done, than it will be more jungle themed.

This is an interesting conversion. I presumethe Woodchip area has infilled the moat? It has given a much bigger ground area and the covered net roof gives a whole new dimension to the enclosure. A big improvement to what these enclosures were like before and the next best thing to a brand new enclosure.

Will they do the same for the Gorilla indoors perhaps?

The moat was filled and even the area in front of the moat was also used for the exhibit.
#Sorry Animal, I edited you post instead of quoting- my mistake.

Question- The concrete pillar left of centre and the structure above it- was that part of the original enclosure, and if so what was it?

It shows what can be done when there is a pressing need to act!;). I hope they will do similar for the Gorillas at some stage later on perhaps.

Sorry I edited your previous post by mistake, in the process of asking another question- see above.
