What other species (just birds?) are kept with the cassowary?
    • LaughingDove
The entire zoo is just one large netted over area and the cassowary enclosure is a fenced-in part within the free-flight area. So any free-flying birds could enter the cassowary enclosure but there was nothing else apart from the cassowary that was not free-flying around the whole zoo.

Oh wow, ok. I look forward to your review to see what was free-flying around the whole place and what was kept separate.

Everything apart from the cassowary was free-flying around the whole place (species lists are on those 'spotters guides' that I posted under the pictures of the old ones).
There were a few conures held in a soft release enclosure and some finches held in a separate enclosure however other individuals of their species were free-flying around the whole place.

I would be greatly surprised if the cassowary was indeed free-flying! :D

Right, that's a little surprising. I thought there would be a separation of exotic and native birds at least.
