Do you know where in the park are kept Storm's storks (Ciconia stormi)? This is a larger aviary or enclosure or maybe Freiflughalle? From what I heard last year while in Walsrode that the park has also Lesser Adjutans (Leptoptilos javanicus). Whether they are still kept out of the exposure? It is good that Walsrode rebuilding their once famous collection of a variety of storks from the world.
    • Eagle
I heared that they keep the Storm's storks inside the "Paradieshalle".

      Thank you.

So it's aviary, which last year are: Black-naped Orioles, Luzon Bleeding-heart Pigeons, Black-and-white Laughingthrushes, Pink-spotted Fruit-doves and pair of Great Argus. Do Storm's Storks share their aviary with other birds?
    • Maguari
The storks are on their own, but all the species you mention are still on show in the building (the Argus are in the very last aviary now).

Thank you for the information. By the way, do you know what is now on the former
Emu paddock (the paddock next to the existing sea ducks). In June last year, something began to build there.
    • Maguari
It's now a huge rectangular aviary with a pair of Andean Condors. The conversion from a ratite paddock is very obvious as the moat is still in place.

There is already a new guide in the park? Or is still being sold last year, released on 50th anniversary?
There are no comments to display.
