Nice Picture...so Leipzig has an underwater viewing for its elephants?
    • Animal
Nope, i had fallen in the waterpond :-D
Sorry^^ Honestly, they do have an underwater viewing :)

I imagine this is pretty good for their joints, is there any known correlation between elephant joint/hoof health and accessibility to deep water? IE, do elephants with access to water for swimming have fewer health problems commonly related to standing on hard surfaces and not walking much?

Wonder how thick that glass is...

      Wow, amazing shot!!

Really nice shot. I've seen he elephants bathing friday, but you have to be quick to make shots, because the water became dirty immediatly after the elephants has entered the pool.

And of course, there are so many people watching the elephants underwater, so you have to be at the pool very early.

Is Leipzig the only zoo in the world with underwater viewing for elephants?
    • reduakari
I am not aware of any others. 15 years ago. Jacksonville planned to do this for African elephants--but it never happened.
