Ocean tank

The massive open ocean tank in Burgers Ocean. 17X30X6 meters. It holds 3.000.000 litres of water. It houses 2 sharkspecies, cobia\'s, a guitar ray and more. As as visitor you can\'t see were the tank end, so the sharks simply dissapear in the dark.

I remember thinking that the perspex/glass viewing window was actually unusually thick. Is this an old exhibit and has technology significantly reduced the thickness of the newer viewing window?

The window is made from a kind of acryl and is "only" 35 cm thick. The window is about 12 years old now, I don't think this is an unusual thickness of such a viewing window.
