      This is a really beautiful photo devilfish, shows the tiny hooves very well. Was it in the walkthrough aviary? Do you know if they have more than one

      They have only this lone male, together with an old pair in Frankfurt they are the last in Europe...

      Wow, I didn't realise they were on their last legs in Europe, glad I got to see the Valencia animal then!

      That's what happen if just one zoo is breeding a species-Frankfurt bred more than 80 Klippspirngers, but just a few became older than three months, and most of the young had to be handraised, too...Of course they were all inbred, just one animal came in from Naples Zoo, and all attemps to create new breeding groups at other zoos failed completly.

      But as far as I know, europe wants to import new klippspringres. They already wanted to do it many years ago, but it failed.But now the chances are much better.
