Papiliorama - Jungle Trek (Peccary exhibit)

The separate exhibit for collared peccaries (Pecari tajacu) inside Jungle Trek in the Papiliorama. This picture shows about 1/3 of the exhibit. Jungle Trek is a dome-shaped tropical house 40 meters in diameter and 18 meters tall. It was opened in 2008 and was a major expansion of the Papiliorama. Jungle Trek is meant to be “a little piece of Shipstern”, the nature reserve in Belize that the Papiliorama Foundation manages in situ, and shows wildlife from that region. Papiliorama, July 2010.

A Coati enclosure is next to this, but one Coati is mixed in this Peccary enclosure as well.
