Maxi the elephant bull

Maxi the Asian elephant breeding bull of the Zurich zoo. He is together all day with the younger bull Thai, who arrived from Heidelberg last year. The different elephant groups are rotated throughout the day between the different enclosures, they spent the afternoon in the larger outdoor enclosure.

That seems like a very unusual tusk position, can he move his trunk above that tusk?
