Just wondering how many seychelles tortoises are in european zoos ? Kiki the century old reptile at the menagerie de Jardin des Plantes in Paris is said to be one of them. I think Barcelona had another, but i am not certain.

I would be very interested to know if anyone has considered trying to identify these animals scientifically. If any are genuine Seychelles tortoises and still fertile (I suppose they are all old animals), I think that they should be repatriated to join the in situ captive breeding programmes to increase the genetic diversity of the stock.

I was wondering the same thing as Alan and Darwin does mate with some female Tops tuvy I wonder if this could produce a hybrid Tops tuvy x Seychelles?
