      Interesting....
      I have a few Dudley guide books from (much) earlier and some from after this time.
      Note this was before the construction of the awful 'ape house' still used today for orangs (see photos in my gallery). Rob, do you know the date this was constructed??

      any chance we can see those guides in the gallery if possible.? Do you know if the zoo ever had bigger primates like gorillas. I thought I remember gorillas when I went there in my youth but my memory ain't what it use to be

      I visited Dudley several times in the early '70s (see photos of 'Cuddles' the killer whale in the Gallery). The current Ape House was in use then for pairs of orangs and gorillas and a trio of chimps. It wasn't brand new either, I guess it was built in the early to mid '60s.
