Dyreparken NBV - Chicken/owl aviary

This aviary houses spotted eagle-owls in the warmer months and chickens in the colder months. Usually the end of March would be warm enough to keep spotted eagle-owls outside, but alas, the spring of 2018 decided that it didn't like Denmark, so it's still chilly and snowy as all hell here.

Dyreparken NBV is a tiny zoo in the town of Hjørring, Denmark. Other than a zoo, it's a workplace for mentally handicapped people, belonging to the titular NBV ("Nordjyllands Beskyttede Værksted", "Northern Jutland's Sheltered Workshop") which organizes work for disabled people. Other than the handicapped workers, the zoo also employs one trained zookeeper.

Area-wise, it's - as mentioned - probably one of the tiniest zoos in the world, not much larger than your average backyard, and as such it only keeps around 25 species of animals, the majority of these species being small mammals and small birds. Most of the animals are housed in fine living conditions.

The zoo has free entry and is always open, though to access the indoor exhibits you need to visit when the employees are at work which is during standard work hours from Monday to Friday.
