Dyreparken NBV - Meerkat exhibit (outdoors)

Probably the most expensive exhibit in the zoo, given the amount of mock rock (and beyond that, the exhibit design does seem to have had more effort put into it compared to some of the simpler aviaries).

Dyreparken NBV is a tiny zoo in the town of Hjørring, Denmark. Other than a zoo, it's a workplace for mentally handicapped people, belonging to the titular NBV ("Nordjyllands Beskyttede Værksted", "Northern Jutland's Sheltered Workshop") which organizes work for disabled people. Other than the handicapped workers, the zoo also employs one trained zookeeper.

Area-wise, it's - as mentioned - probably one of the tiniest zoos in the world, not much larger than your average backyard, and as such it only keeps around 25 species of animals, the majority of these species being small mammals and small birds. Most of the animals are housed in fine living conditions.

The zoo has free entry and is always open, though to access the indoor exhibits you need to visit when the employees are at work which is during standard work hours from Monday to Friday.
