It is a brutal enclosure in the children's zoo, and when I was at the zoo in August a man reached over and touched the echidna!
Neat fact: This guy is the oldest living mammal at the San Diego Zoo. He was there when the Children's Zoo opened.
it looks liek he's house on concrete, a big no no with echidnas, best to have concrete around 1m underground, can cause sores, but i spose if he's still going!
