      Education in the Dolfinarium

The educational system of the institution is very special: you can not find the usual signages with scientific names. Of course, it does not mean that the Dolfinarium gave up the education.

In the main picture you can see one of the ’boeibakens’ (buoys). These are educational spots, located directly next to the exhibit of the given animal. The spots include true to life full-scale models of the animals of the Dolfinarium, such as Bottlenose Dolphins, Californian Sealions and Pacific Walrusses, and interactive elements which make sounds, which smell, which visitor can touch and which gives them … stamps.

This boeibaken in the main picture is located next to the Californian Sealions.

For further information read an article in the EAZA News 54, page 11.
