With the sand everywhere it looks like it might have been a penguin enclosure.

I'm quite sure it would have been for crocodiles because it was located at the station for the train that goes around the zoo called the 'crocodile station' and it had 'crocodiles' written in a similar way to 'wombats' in this picture: http://www.zoochat.com/673/empty-enclosure-though-probably-formerly-wombats-459595/
