      How rare are these toads in Spain keeper, they are on the edge of their range here in the UK, but i wondered about other more suitable climes . also how long have they been called epidalea rather than bufo any Idea?

      Hi dean, answering about your questions: UICN Status in Spain (LC).
      It's relatively common in appropriate habitats i.e. ponds or similar.
      Over the other question: over 2009 I know the change to new Genus.
      Seems that change occurs by studies from Frost et al. (2006).
