future hybrid rattlesnakes?

This speckled rattlesnake and southern pacific rattlesnake in EO appeared to be mating. (I tried looking under the male tale to confirm, but could not positively tell). But he was there for a while and convulsing so it looked like mating behavior to me (and to the other visitors).
