Troy the Damara Zebra challenging Koife :) Poor fella.

The zebras do seem viscous but I assume this isn't anything to worry about?

On my keeper for the day, the keeper I was with said that the Zebra do tend to think they are boss in the paddock, especially Troy! :p

The problem is that this isn't a huge space, and the zebras, a grazing animal that can be notoriously aggressive in captivity, have no grazing to do. I keep seeing photos of the Colchester Zebras bothering other animals in the enclosure, but have never seen this in grassed mixed paddocks. I assume this could just be down to a particularly aggressive male, but there could be more too it.

It is just a problem animal who has a dislike of giraffes.

Which begs the question, why is it still being kept in a mixed paddock with giraffes? Was this the animal that came from Manor House?

If it is a regular 'fighter' then one of them is likely to get injured at some stage as they aren't matched for fighting.
    • Goretex
Indeed:(, so presumeably they certainly should try and get rid of it. For as you say an injured girafe might result here which would be bad news.:(
