Golden Jackal (Canis aureus)?

I'm still not sure this is Canis aureus. It's very small for a Jackal and has some features of a fox (though it lacks the bushy, or at least somewhat fuller, tail foxes usually have). This is an old picture from my visit to the Nehru Zoo in Hyderabad in 2006. My apologies for the bad quality of these pictures. Back then I didn't have a very good camera, and I had not taken a photography course yet… ;)
