Great Northwest - Cascade Crest
Cascade Crest is the first exhibit visitors to the Oregon Zoo encounter. It features Rocky Mountain Goats, which while not native to the Cascade Range, have been introduced there and present one of America's great wildlife management dilemmas. Other species found in the upper regions of the Cascades are represented in bronze including American Pika and Hoary Marmot. An interesting feature of this exhibit is an ice cave featuring equipment that would be used to arrive at such a location and a magnified view of models of invertebrates that could be found inhabiting such an ice cave.
