      Is this Bothriechis bicolor?
      Beautifull snake

Mexican zoos can go further in ex situ conservation of Mexican endemic animals, since their export to other zoos is banned. Animals like maroon-fronted parrot or yellow-blotched palm pit-viper.

Yes, it is bothriechis bicolor. In Chiapas they will reach a considerable size. It is the mexican enviromental authorities at Profepa who ban the export of mexican endemic species, not the mexican zoos. Indeed only captive bred individuals from mexican zoos may be exported and then under strict measures. Zoomat has sent quetzals and horned guans to selected zoos outside of mexico. Actually considering the huge damage that the pet trade has made to mexican wildlife, like many conservation minded mexicans i totally support the export restrictions that Profepa (Procuraduria federal del medio ambiente) imposes.

Yeah that's wise decision owning to damaging effect of pet trade.
carlos55 do you know the status of yellow-blotched palm pit viper (Bothriechis aurifer) in Mexican zoos (because it is vulnerable species)? Is it well represented in the Mexican zoos?
I read from an article from interview with vet in Mexico, that zoos in Mexico making huge efforts to save endemic species, like maroon-fronted parrot.

It is identical ban for export, like for example with Australian law who only allows exporting captive-bred koalas, to zoos outside Australia who will met the criteria, including 3-month stay (getting needed practical experience) in Australia for two future keepers from importing oversea zoo, and also 1-month stay of veterinarian in the Australian facility wich will export the koalas; the koalas also must be free of Koala retrovirus and Chlamydia. Also the receiving oversea facility must ensure a plan how will supply the needed eucalyptus spp. and amount.

In Mexico, export is forbidden for wild caught specimens. Mexican Zoos that breed native fauna may send them to other accredited zoos or wildlife institutions outside the country. For example, Zoomat has sent horned guans and quetzal to Dallas World Aquarium. Africam Safari Puebla has sent horned guans to St. Louis and mexican brockets to Phoenix. This is a reasonable legal situation considers the different circunstances involved. Confiscated animals will usually go to the mexican zoos. And Mexico has great zoos like Chapultepec, Africam puebla, Guadalajara and Zoomat, but also some terrible collections too.
I have only seen an aurifer at zoomat.
