Hartebeest

the last three(1,2) red hartebeests in Burgers Zoo. Together with the three in Hannover they are the only ones in Europe.

I wish more collections would show an interest in this fabulous group of antelopes, with so many white rhino being imported from South Africa, the likes of the red hartebeest and bontebok are equally available at game auctions.

I wish more of these animals are in Europe

It is a shame that these days there are no hartebeest whatsoever in European zoos.
No topi, no lelwel hartebeest ...
