I know Blackpool Zoo have got 1.2 now as a male arrived recently. This news was on their Facebook page, I think.

Pretty sure Marwell still have no male. It would be interesting to know if there is one in the pipeline.

Excellent news; let's hope Marwell obtain a male soon.

Marwell transfered 0:1 to Paignton in May 2008. She was 2 years old on arrival.

wouldn't it be good for marwell to get a male or give a female to one of the males since means more foals??
    • Mike11
The trouble EvilKittie is trying to find one. They're not the most common animals in Zoo's!

i know but they could swap around the females or the males to give 2 large herds 1.5 and 1.4, while let the other two collections get a new hoofstock?
    • Mike11
Its probably best to keep them in the smaller groups to keep them far apart if it was only 2 groups then the chance of them all being related even further is a high possibility.
This way it keeps them in more collections and kept further apart genetically.
