Herd of Chital (Axis axis)

This huge Chital herd (Axis axis) is housed together with Asiatic Lions (Panthera leo persica)!!! The enclosure is huge and in order to visit you have to board a bus that takes you through the exhibit. The deer are extremely alert and are very noisy (can you blame them…?). This is an old picture from my visit to the Nehru Zoo in Hyderabad in 2006. My apologies for the bad quality of these pictures. Back then I didn't have a very good camera, and I had not taken a photography course yet… ;)

      That's some form of enrichment for both species! :p
      Is there a similar drive-through for tigers at this zoo as well or am I getting confused with somewhere else?
