Historic Bear Mountain - Asiatic Black Bear

This was the first simulated concrete rockwork grotto exhibit built in the United States, in 1918.

Another $hitty bear grotto, and I can recall seeing cubs at this zoo in May of 2006. Eventually the bears will be moved out of here, but for the moment there are zero plans to do so.

I was impressed with the panorama of rockwork above the exhibit too, for its time it must have really set a precedent.

That is a historic exhibit and Denver Zoo say's it is not going anywhere.
