      With the white eye and the bluish bill, maybe it is a cross with a hardhead.....

      Its deinitely not a mallard-black duck hybrid, they look pretty much like a mallard, I think it might be a domestic duck/black duck hybrid. I don't know if hardheads can breed with mallards/black ducks.

      Looks to me like domestic [mallard-type] x domestic Muscovy Duck. Look at the shape & stance.

      If domestic, then why would it have a beak colour/pattern like a hardhead?

      it doesn't. It has a pale band on the beak but it is not the same pattern as the pale band on a white-eyed duck's beak.

      It is just a domestic duck.

      This is a domestic mallard x domestic muscovy cross , a so called mule duck
