Is this a Black-banded Leoporinus?

Does anyone know if this is a Black-banded Leoporinus I took this at New York Aquarium October 22nd 2022. Looks just like the imanges on google but I just want to make sure. Thanks! And if it isn't then what species?

Is this a Black-banded Leoporinus?
    • Mr Gharial
Certainly looks like Leporinus fasciatus, but there are other Leporinus species with similar markings. At that point it just depends on which species are present in America

(In Europe it could only be L. Fasciatus or L. Affinis)

      Most likely Leporinus affinis
    • Chlidonias
It is L. fasciatus. There are too many stripes for it to be L. affinis (the stripes are still dividing), and fasciatus is also much more common in the trade.
      Jena and Ebirah766 like this.
