The tent towards the right-hand side of the photo is a Jaguar Research Station, and it contains things like small bones, books and various other scientific odds n' sods. Beneath the huge fallen tree trunk is this angle of the exhibit:

I really must get back there some day. (The one time I was there, they were just starting construction on this). With this plus the new clouded leopard area at neighboring Point Defiance, it is a cat photographers dream. (And of course Northwest Trek is still an all time favorite).

Woodland Park has arguably the best jaguar exhibit in North America, plus ocelots, lions, snow leopards (with cubs) and a brand-new tiger complex opening in 2014. Point Defiance has the great new clouded leopard exhibit plus tigers in the rotational Asian Forest Sanctuary. Oregon has added lions, cheetahs, caracals, bobcats and cougars just in the past few years to join their tigers and Amur leopards. Northwest Trek has outstanding cougar, lynx and bobcat exhibits. Add all that up and you should start saving for a plane ticket!:)
