One of the last two Serow in Europe...
    • LaughingDove
There are actually two Serow(s? what is the plural of Serow?) in this enclosure.

...and I saw one at Usti nad Labem a couple of weeks ago - although, unfortunately, the light was insufficient to get anything other than a 'record' shot.

If Zootierliste is to be believed, Berlin Zoo has 0.2 and Usti has 0.1.
No hope for the population in Europe then?

What make's it so difficult to get Japanese serows from zoos in Japan? Possible diseases?

It may have something to do with the Japanese serow being classed as a "Special National Monument" .
      Perhaps requiring government to export
