Now that is a really interesting design.

It really is an innovative design, and the structure is 12 feet high and the jellyfish actually travel beneath the floor. Where the boy is standing in the photo there is a small section at his feet where one can view the jellyfish floating beneath the glass, and the purple light on the display is not a mistake. There are many colours (red, pink, purple, green, yellow, blue, etc) that shine in a pattern along one side of the exhibit.

What is this structure? Is it an educational display of some kind?

It is simply a bizarre-looking moon jellyfish exhibit.
