      Great shot!

You're very lucky indeed. Despite being so vibrant they're really hard to spot in the large aviary. And to capture courtship behaviour is a huge plus :)

Those are really amazing birds. Is their exhibit very large? Are the birds usually visible?
    • Chlidonias
the bird of paradise aviaries are huge. Something like twenty feet high, with viewing from outside at ground level through the wire and also inside on a raised walkway with no barriers between you and the birds. Some of my favourite aviaries at the park.

Wow that would be pretty cool if there was an American Zoo that had the same thing. Are some of the birds of paradise mixed with others?
    • baboon
The king birds-of-paradise are mixed with a pair of red birds-of-paradise. Lesser birds-of-paradise and twelve-wired birds-of-paradise are kept seperately.
    • Zooish
The Lesser BoP are mixed with Wilson's BoP. Twelve-wired BoP are not mixed with other species as baboon has pointed out.
