La Vallée des singes - Crowned lemur (Eulemur coronatus)
La Vallée des Singes, situated in Romagne, near Poitiers, is the second primate-park in Europe. This institution, situated in a 15 hectares forest, opened in july 1998 on the exemple of Apenheul (The Netherlands.) Today, it is home to 350 monkeys (30 different species) living in large island or walk-through exhibits. The photo shows the lemurs walk-through exhibit, a big forest (6000 m² = 1,5 acres) with 4 madagascan species : Ring-tailed lemur, black and white vari, red vari and, since 2007, crowned lemur.
