      I am sure, many people dont know about this hole. Always when I am looking through this hole I think to myself that there is no real barrier between me and animals. Is there any glass or not???

      I think there is glass, but at the far end of the hole. The gap would be plenty big enough for the dormice to escape otherwise, I should think.
