Widely regarded as one of the worst zoos in Europe, this finally closed at around the turn of the century. This picture is from 1995. One of a pair. Very dark, bunker-like house; small paddock outside.

      Just like Rhenen The Netherlands in these days. Although in Rhenen the enclosure was more awfull.

      While Rhenen was bad, the enclosure at Genk really hit rock bottom with the long rows of rusty nails on the edges of the moat. I believe Genk was also smaller...
