      Ageism in gorillas, This pair( it was a trio until recently) missed out on a better enclosure because of their advancing years.

      Has it been confirmed that only the two elderly gorillas (living apart from the main group) perished in the fire? There have been conflicting accounts of which of the gorillas, orangutans and chimpanzees did or did not die in the tragedy.

      @snowleopard Only the two elderly Gorillas died, the house with the breeding group was spared. The only apes of this house that survived are 2 Chimpanzees.
