Main Pond in Freeflight Sanctuary - Hamilton Zoo
Main Pond in Freeflight Sanctuary - Hamilton Zoo This large pond occupies one corner, near the exit, of this 3500 square metre walkthrough aviary built 1997. The pond is home to a number of duck species: Grey Teal, NZ Scaup, NZ Shoveller & Paradise Shelduck. Taken from a viewing platform that is probably 4m above the water. To the right, a boardwalk leads to the exit, while to the left is a waterfall and a steep bank, the waterfall of which is fenced off and holds Blue Duck. Behind the camera is the boardwalk which comes down from the rest of the aviary.
